AUTUMNAL FOREST WEDDING INSPIRATION

November 10, 2017

A wedding workshop is a one-of-a-kind experience, that is why I was so happy to be on the team of The City Owl hosted by the great photographer Sotiris Tsakanikas.  We gathered in a mountain resort of Northern Greece, where I had the opportunity to meet incredible photographers. We had endless discussions, I got to discover their point of view, the way each expresses through the art of photography and I spoke to them about blogging.

The day of the shoot went by so fast as everyone involved was so incredibly energetic, capturing imagery and setups designed especially for our workshop by the superbly talented wedding planner Phaedra Liakou. The location itself, an alpine landscape surrounded by thick forestry of firs and oaks inspired her to employ natural accents such as wood, leaves and autumnal florals, while the color palette moved from whites to deep greens and golds.

We were enticed by the superior handmade watercolor stationery and ceremonial banner by Manousenia Design, the lavish velvet wedding favors sealed with golden wax, and the immaculate flowers in shades of ivory and lush greenery by Kipos Kalou, which were arranged in a  decadently relaxed form, just like a mountain wedding calls for. The minimally chic table set up involved an impressive floral runner, gold cutlery, classic china and crystal bell champagne glasses, while an authentic fine weaved Persian rug from Fessa Carpets completed the romantic scenery. The minimal cake, decorated with fresh blooms and leaves was placed on a pretty dessert table aside biscuits and cupcakes in the colors of our setup, while an impressive variety of delicious local cheese and dried fruit became the perfect bites for the guests.

A sublime uniquely bound gold diamond ring, the impressive hanging diamond earrings from KK Jewelry Lab as well as the uber romantic tailor-made wedding dress in lace and a plush muslin skirt created by the designer Alkmini added to the atherial beauty of the bride, whose make up was kept fresh and minimal. The groom's black and burgundy suit with a double bow tie of coordinating colorway and his exquisite shirt and shoes all by Hionidis Mankind, made for the most classy and stylish choices. The ceremony was held in a beautiful clearing in the woods, with wooden benches, a monumental canopy arranged by our florist and beautiful autumnal leafy accents.
