Santorini is one of the top wedding destinations not only in Greece, but in the world. What such a destination offers is, apart from the location and the history bonded with the amazing views of the volcano, the availability to host every time a unique, ground-braking and enthralling setting for a real wedding or a captivating editorial like this one.
In an open terrace with a view like two love birds flying above the Aegean Sea, this wedding idea set, unveiled. The bride to be was attorned in an ancient Greek style wedding gown, sleeveless with a charming veil attached on the shoulders. A symbolic gold wreath slightly held her loose hair before a pale rose, chalky and green dotted one (wreath) replaced it. A king protea was added to those floral selections for her wedding bouquet and matched effortlessly her emerging elegance. Alexander, the groom of the day, worn an island- appropriate wedding suit, total white colored, with a grey-pink linen blazer. Like an entrance to the Sea horizon, their unique wedding arch opened its’ shutters to one of the most captivating sights someone could have, while exchanging his vows. The flowers which embellished the elements of the wedding ceremony where the same pale rose and chalky white, blended with lush greenery. Traditional music accompanied the couple to the Cycladic domes and the Santo trails. The wedding reception warmed up the sunset of that day; earthy notes of wooden chairs and tables, warm pink flowers with hanging lights like falling stars fulfilled the alluring images of the gold cutlery, fine crystals and blue plates.
Blending the two elements of this unique island, Santorini, which are the sea and the sunset is not attainable through a simple or everyday wedding editorial. Destination wedding photographer, Andreas Markakis captured uniquely this fascinating blend.
