Beautiful Naxos in Greece hosted a special wedding this summer, where the colours of the sea and the island, blue and white, were prevailing. I loved the way the bride's dashing wedding dress was peacefully combined with her blue shoes and the groom's costume, and the guests looked particularly happy in colorful floral dresses. The essence of the island hugged the decorations, with olive branches surrounding plates with little wooden hearts and candles, which shoothed my mind and heart. Enjoy the photos below.
The bride told us: Gavin proposed to me in Immervogli, Santorini in Sept 2016 whilst we were island hopping. We fell in love with the Greek islands and knew we also wanted to get married abroad. Santorini was top of our list until we stepped foot on Naxos. We fell in love with the people, the laid back charm and breathtaking beaches. When we visited the Cathedral at the very top of the old town we knew we had to get our family and friends out for them to share in this special place!
Father Georgios kindly let us use the Cathedral and Father Paschal Scallon from Ireland married us with 50 guests on 11 September 2017 - a year nearly to the day that Gavin proposed!
We had a huge 3 day party with a hen and stag do on Yacht Danae followed by a rehearsal dinner on Sunday evening in Yazoo Bar. The wedding ceremony was held in the Cathedral and dinner was held in Ostria, Naxos on Agia Anna. Our favourite restaurant and beach!
