ELEGANT ELOPEMENT INSPIRATION AT A TRADITIONAL NORTHERN VILLAGE
What a better way to celebrate orthodox Easter than this gorgeous elopement inspiration at a traditional northern village by destination photographer Chris Gouberis and super talented wedding planner Phaedra Liakou. I challenged Phaedra to combine traditional greek elements and elegance through this style shoot. So she proposed us a beautiful small village at Holomontas mountain in Halkidiki, Arnaia. The surrounding speaks for itself in this shoot. Beautiful houses and buildings remain intact until nowadays and consist excellent examples of traditional Macedonian architecture. If you are dreaming of a traditional chic wedding, scroll down and snatch up the most elegant wedding ideas.
From Phaedra Liakou: "We decided to organize a styled shoot in the Greek highlands, in Arnea. Instead of the ordinary dress code, we decided to go all folklore and pay homage to our roots by wearing traditional costumes for the occasion, ornate silk aprons decorated with golden thread embroidery and gold coins from our great grandmother's trousseau. We put emphasis on soft toned cascading florals scabiosa, roses, eustoma, astranthia, symforicarpos from Kipos Kalou to accentuate beautiful our bride’s rosy features and organic bridal look as well as her ethereal wedding dress by designer Alkmini. One of our favorite notes was the pomegranate symbolism an allusion to a life of abundance and fertility, a wedding custom in these lands offered to the newlyweds both as a charm and as food. Atelier Invitations created a delicate stationery suite including the couple's seating card calligraphy signage that perfectly suited the couple's garden feast. We loved working with the photographer Chris, who captured every pretty detail and nuance and won our hearts with his talent and kindness.
A big shout out to our friend Chloe Koromila from the blog Getting Married in Greece for her assistance."
